ONT Numbers Continue to Soar in September

ONT Numbers Continue to Soar in September

The Inland Empire’s busiest airport, Ontario International (ONT), has surpassed pre-pandemic levels for the seventh straight month as passenger volume in September jumped to 517,000, over 10% more than the same month in 2019. In addition, air cargo totaled more than 70,000 tons, which is 14% higher than September 2019.

It’s no surprise that cargo numbers are increasing, given the fact that the Inland Empire remains one of the nation’s premier logistics hubs. “Ontario International cargo shipments showed strong growth in September and on a year-to-date basis compared with 2019, as our shipping partners show ongoing confidence in ONT as a commercial hub for Southern California,” said Ron Loveridge, VP of the Ontario International Airport Authority Board.

Passenger totals are impressive as well. Through the first nine months of 2022, ONT has welcomed 4.2 million passengers, 3.6% more than the same period in 2019 and a whopping 37.6% above last year.
