Onni Eyes Two-Tower Redevelopment for Wilshire Courtyard
Canadian developer Onni Group proposed redeveloping Wilshire Courtyard, a Miracle Mile landmark office complex built by J. H. Snyder Co. in the 1980s. The more than 1-million-square-foot mid-rise property at 5700 and 5750 Wilshire was acquired last year by Onni, reportedly for $630 million.
Now, Onni wants to demolish the Wilshire Boulevard frontage and develop two interconnected high-rise buildings encompassing 1.8 million square feet of office space and 117,000 square feet of ground-floor retail. One tower would rise 35 stories along Curson Avenue on the west and a larger 41-story building would front Masselin Avenue.
The plan also envisions renovating the southern portions of both buildings on the 8.7-acre site bringing the total property square footage to 2.34 million. The proposed development is being designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz.
