One Museum Square Has Prime Position in Museum Row
One Museum Square, a 296,000-square-foot luxury high-rise apartment community in Los Angeles, is now open and accepting tours by appointment. Designed by MVE + Partners for developer J.H. Snyder Company, the 21-story community is comprised of 285 residential apartment units.
Located at 640 S. Curson Ave., the apartment community is positioned at the gateway of historic museum row, home to LACMA, the La Brea Tarpits, Page Museum and Petersen Automotive Museum. One Museum Square offers a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom units ranging from 495 to 1,300 square feet.
“It is a very unique opportunity in that One Museum Square is sitting perpendicular to the axis of the La Brea Tar Pits, which is like the Central Park of Los Angeles,” said Carl McLarand, chairman and CEO at MVE. “By its very nature, it will be iconic.”
The project represents the culmination of the 30-year friendship between developer Jerry Snyder of J.H. Snyder Company and architect Carl McLarand of MVE + Partners, whose partnership produced and celebrated Los Angeles-based projects such as the Wilshire Courtyard, the Santa Monica Water Garden and the Howard Hughes Entertainment Center prior to Jerry’s passing in 2020. This legacy project was a reward for their decades-long partnership as they worked side-by-side from conceptual design through construction, cementing their friendship and vision for the Los Angeles community.
MVE worked with SCA Engineers, NA & Associates Inc., Limbach Engineer and Donald F. Dickerson Associates to complete the project.
