One-of-a-Kind HQ McDonald’s Previews New Store Format
In advance of the opening of its new global headquarters in the West Loop, McDonald’s has opened a ground-floor restaurant with a rotating selection of menu items from across the globe. While formerly a McDonald’s customer would need to be in Canada to have a Mighty Angus Burger, or in Australia to buy Cheese & Bacon Loaded Fries, both are now options at this location.
“As part of our new headquarters, we wanted to provide our customers with an exciting way to experience our global menu right here in Chicago,” said Steve Easterbrook, president and CEO of McDonald’s.
Physically, the newly-opened location at Sterling Bay’s 110 N. Carpenter St. offers a taste of what’s to come. It’s another of McDonald’s Experience of the Future (EOTF) restaurants; the fast-food giant plans to transform most U.S. locations to the EOTF format by 2020.
