On the Drawing Board: Austin’s Tallest Tower

If San Antonio, TX-based Lynd Development Partners has its way, a 62-story, mixed-use tower will be built at 600 Guadalupe St. in Austin, TX. Lynd, which is partnering with Dallas-based Lincoln Property Co. on the proposed development, has proposed The Independent, a 62-story, 850-foot tower that would contain 300 luxury apartment units, as well as office space and ground-floor retail space.

Lynd has the proposed site (which currently contains an Extended Stay America hotel) under contract, and will be submitting plans to the city of Austin in the near future. If all goes according to plan, the developer could begin construction by the end of 2018. Lynd said the entire project will take four years to complete.
