Ollie’s to Anchor Streamwood Retail Property

CBRE has arranged a new 33,000-square-foot anchor tenant lease within Westview Center in Streamwood, IL. Discount chain Ollie’s has signed a lease and will occupy the space in March. This location is among the first leases in Illinois for Ollie’s.

The CBRE team of Joe Parrott and Sean McCourt represented the landlord, Diehl, LLC, in the transaction.

“Since Diehl, LLC purchased this 81,000-square-foot property, we have seen a healthy turnaround in leasing activity,” said Parrott. “There is also significant interest in the remaining space, which speaks to the good market fundamentals Westview Center presents.”

According to a recent CBRE report, on a year-over-year basis, the vacancy rate in the Chicago region has increased just 10 basis points, an encouraging sign given retail’s unique challenges throughout the pandemic.
