Matteson planning 1,907 foot OKC mixed-use tower

OKC Sizing Up Country’s Tallest Building

Matteson Capital is exploring the possibilities of building a 1,907 foot tower in Oklahoma City. The proposed mixed-use tower would be about three hours north of Dallas. As proposed, it would be the tallest building in the country. AO is the architect.

Legends Tower would be one of four towers in Matteson’s Boardwalk at Bricktown development. The site where the tower would be built is currently a parking lot, and developers say the project will cover more than three acres with more than 2 million square feet of residential, hospitality, retail, dining, and entertainment. Matteson says the project would cost $1.5 billion and is fully funded.

Matteson is yet to get approval from Oklahoma City Council or the Federal Aviation Administration. The Oklahoma City Planning Commission is scheduled to review a zoning change for the project in April, followed by a city council meeting in June.

The developer has said if the plan is not approved, plans will revert to a 350-foot tower for the development’s fourth building.
