OHS Resources Acquires Former Textile Facility

OHS Resources acquired a 336,000-square-foot industrial complex in Cuero, TX, to use as its main product distribution center. The Houston-headquartered buyer obtained the property, formerly the Mount Vernon Mills cotton weaving facility, from MV Cuero Partners LLC. OHS produces and sells proprietary oil and gas drilling products.

Jason Scholtz with Colliers International represented the seller. “When we listed the property, we expected to receive interest from the oilfield, given the property’s location in Dewitt County,” he said, adding that the property attracted attention from other users, as well. “The city of Cuero will also greatly benefit from this transaction, now that the facility will be humming with activity again,” Scholtz said.

The facility, situated on 11.2 acres at 516 W. Live Oak St., was shuttered in 2016 by Mount Vernon Mills Inc. The list price was $2.5 million; the sales price was not disclosed.
