O’Hare Earns Plaudits from Travel Magazine’s Readers

O’Hare International Airport was named “Favorite Airport in North America” for the second consecutive year by Global Traveler Magazine’s Trazee Awards. 

The North Side airport was also honored with Trazee Awards for “Favorite Airport Shopping,” and “Favorite Airport Dining” for the second consecutive year. On the city’s South Side, Midway International Airport brought home the “Best Family-Friendly Domestic Airport” award. 

“On behalf of Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot, we are honored that O’Hare and Midway International Airports were once again recognized by Global Traveler’s readers,” said Jamie L. Rhee, Chicago Department of Aviation Commissioner. “At both O’Hare and Midway, we are improving the traveler experience everyday with world-class dining, shopping, passenger amenities and family-friendly facilities.”

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic’s substantial impact on the travel industry, Chicago’s airports proved resilient, and the number of domestic destinations served from Chicago is now at the same level as it was pre-COVID.
