Ohana Acquires 5-Diamond Dana Point Resort for $497M
Ohana Real Estate Investors has acquired Orange County’s landmark five-diamond Monarch Beach Resort for $497 million ($1.24 million per room) from KSL Capital Partners.
As reported by the OC Register, the Redwood City-based hotel investor plans approximately $32 million in upgrades moving forward with rumors pointing to a return of the Four Seasons flag to Orange County.
Dana Point is trademarked as “The Dolphin & Whale Watching Capitol of the World” and long considered one of Southern California’s premier coastal hospitality destinations. Ohana is no stranger to the OC coastline and a strong force in the region’s hospitality sector, having previously owned the Montage Laguna Beach which it sold in 2015 for $317 million ($1.4 million per room).
In the past two decades there have been 24 California hotels sold at a price above $1 million per room, according to Alan Reay of Atlas Hospitality.
