Offshore Wind Tower Maker to Invest $110M in Baytown Mill

JSW Steel USA plans to invest $110 million in steel plate mill modernization projects within its manufacturing facilities in Baytown. This investment aims to make high-quality monopile steel plates that will expand renewable energy efforts. The steel made at the Baytown plant is intended for specialized applications such as hydrocarbon pipelines, offshore wind towers, offshore wind platforms, high-density pressure vessels, and monopile steel plates for offshore wind towers. 

In addition to products for wind energy, JSW Steel creates products for shipyards, oil field fabricators, heavy equipment producers, railcars, storage tanks, and other end users.

The JSW Group is a prominent Indian conglomerate involved in various industries, including energy, infrastructure, defense, cement, real estate, paints, e-commerce, sports, green transportation, and venture capital. JSW Steel USA, Inc. operates as a subsidiary of JSW Steel, which has a combined capacity of 29.7 million tonnes annually across India and the USA.
