Oden Hughes Claims 57 Acres, Plans Multifamily

Developer Oden Hughes acquired 57 acres on San Antonio’s north side from H-E-B. The goal of the Austin-headquartered buyer is to build approximately 1,000 luxury apartment units over a long-term span.

Oden Hughes will soon begin construction on the first phase of the apartments, consisting of 338 units. The entire land parcel is at Loop 1604 and Bulverde Road, not too far from H-E-B’s just-opened grocery store. The first units are expected to be ready by fall or early winter, 2018.

The developer also plans to sell 16 acres to commercial developers. The plan calls for two hotels, two retail buildings and an assisted-living facility, though Oden Hughes’ Tim Shaughnessy told the San Antonio Express News that the land can be used for a variety of things.
