Obama Marks Topping Off Milestone for Presidential Center

Former United State President Barack Obama helped observe a significant milestone Monday at the site of the Chicago campus bearing his name. The center’s tallest structure, the Museum Building, has now reached its full height at 225 feet.

The Obama Presidential Center has been under construction for nearly three years, and the 44th President visited the site to thank construction workers and celebrate the building’s progress. During his visit, President Obama thanked the construction workers who brought this vision to life. Together, the group signed a beam that will be part of the Sky Room ceiling.

Once compelte, the new landmark on the city’s South Side will anchor a 19.3-acre campus with a landscape design from Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates. At the south end of the site, work on the Home Court at the Obama Presidential Center is also moving forward.
