Oakland Offices Under New Ownership; Metro Services Signed as Anchor

Colliers finalized the sale of 570 10th St./1007 Clay St., a 1903-vintage office and retail building in Downtown Oakland that once housed a Levi Strauss operation. SVP Ben Harrison represented the seller, Redwood Property Investors.

The buyer, 10Clay570 LLC, purchased the building represented by Chris Baker of Cushman & Wakefield. The anchor tenant will be Metro Services Group, a leading facility services partner providing facilities consulting and services and a longtime Oakland company.

“This transaction reflects the premium we’re seeing in today’s market for well-located, character-rich buildings when purchased by owner-users,” said Harrison. “Even as the Oakland office market navigates headwinds, steady interest from healthcare, legal, financial, and retail users highlight the resilience of well-positioned mixed-use assets like this one. Users can take advantage of this low point in the real estate cycle to lock in facility cost and hedge against higher future lease rates.”
