NYU Signs Up for 58k SF at Forest City’s MetroTech

New York University has signed for a total of 58,000 square feet at Forest City New York 1 MetroTech Center. The school has signed a new 26,000-square-foot deal on the office property’s 22nd floor, and renewed its 32,000-square-foot lease for the entire 19th floor.

In all, Forest City has inked 560,000 square feet of office leases across its portfolio in Manhattan and Brooklyn since January 2017. Of that total, more than 360,000 square feet of new leases and renewals occurred in Downtown Brooklyn.

“The last 18 months of office leasing has been an active period for our New York portfolio,” said Ali Esmaeilzadeh, SVP, asset management & leasing, with Forest City. “Brooklyn, in particular, is in the midst of an exciting period, with ongoing commercial development efforts and greater interest and demand from organizations looking to relocate to or expand within the borough.”
