NYC’s Most Expensive Residential Neighborhood is…

The Flatiron District became the most expensive neighborhood in New York City in the third quarter of 2017, according to PropertyShark, which has created a list of the 50 most expensive neighborhoods in the city.

Flatiron is on top largely because of 39 condos that sold at 41-43 E. 22nd St., where prices ranged from $2.6 million to $9.4 million. These sales pushed the median sales price up to $4.4 million, increasing 220% from this time last year.

The former most expensive neighborhood, TriBeCa, was the second most expensive neighborhood in the third quarter, with a median sales price of $4.1 million, down 9% from the year before. The number of homes that sold in TriBeCa dropped by more than 50%.

Brooklyn neighborhoods like Red Hook (#8), DUMBO (#10), and Brooklyn Heights (#12) also made the list.
