NYCFC Unveils ‘The Cube’, 25K-Seat Willets Point Stadium
New York City FC has revealed additional details about its forthcoming 25,000-seat stadium in Willets Point, New York Business Journal reported. The stadium’s southern entrance, dubbed The Cube, will stand seven stories high and feature over 11,000 square feet of LED lighting for immersive visual experiences.
The project also includes plans for 2,500 affordable-housing units, retail spaces, and open areas. Construction began last year, with completion expected by 2027 — following closely behind is the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final, set to take place at the nearby MetLife Stadium.
“It means controlling your own destiny in terms of how you run events. We’ll be managing and running the facility 365 days a year,” said Brad Sims, NYCFC CEO, in an interview. “That means more revenue opportunities from sponsorship, selling stadium-related assets. … It opens up the business upside for the team.”
