NYC Paints the Town Orange for Amazon (Photos)
The Empire State Building lit itself with orange lights Oct. 18 in support of New York City’s official bid to attract the planned second headquarters for tech giant Amazon. One World Trade Center also added Amazon’s orange to its giant antennae, along with with billboards and CityBridge’s new LinkNYC screens.
The City’s proposal to Amazon — delivered on bended knee in partnership with the State of New York — emphasized NYC’s competitive advantages, including the largest pool of talent in the country, world-class academic and research institutions, and the nation’s most diverse economy.
