NYC Housing Developments Get $28M from State 

Two New York City housing developments received state grants totaling about $28 million. A project at 19-19 Cornaga Ave. in Far Rockaway, Queens, will get $12.7 million for 92 apartments, with 60 offering on-site supportive services.  

Another project at 1546 E. New York Ave. in Brooklyn’s Brownsville neighborhood will receive $15.4 million for 95 apartments, with 57 having supportive services. The Brownsville project will also receive $522,500 for a Passive House certification.  

These grants are part of a $260 million dispersal for 1,852 homes across 29 developments, averaging over $140,000 per home. The funds are part of a $25 billion Housing Plan to create or preserve 100,000 affordable homes in New York, with 10,000 units for supportive services.
