NYC Ferry Service Comes to Navy Yard

The Brooklyn Navy Yard has been added to NYC Ferry’s Astoria Route. Officials with the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation, New York City Economic Development Corporation, Rudin Development Company, Boston Properties, Hornblower NY and WeWork cut the ribbon to celebrate the start of ferry service at the manufacturing and innovation hub.

“NYC Ferry service at the Navy Yard provides a critical new transportation option for our tenants, and will connect thousands of workers to our growing business district,” said Navy Yard CEO David Ehrenberg.

He added, “The addition of NYC Ferry to the Yard comes at an ideal moment as we near completion of our largest expansion since World War II, and reach 20,000 jobs in the next few years.”

The Brooklyn Navy Yard stop, the first to be added at a dedicated job center, is slotted between the Wall Street/Pier 11 and East 34th Street stops in Manhattan.
