NY State Taps Development Team to Build 1,100-Plus Apartments on Far West Side

Gov. Kathy Hochul has selected a team of Gotham Organization, Fisher Brothers and Mural Real Estate Group to develop 1,127 housing units on a state-owned site currently used for parking near the USS Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum on Manhattan’s Far West Side. Thirty percent of the units in the two-tower development at 621 W. 45th St., known as Hudson Landing, would remain permanently affordable.

Beyond housing, the project would extend the Intrepid Museum’s public presence eastward across the West Side Highway through a new Intrepid Concourse. The development would also deliver new neighborhood retail space and replacement parking for the Intrepid Museum.

Gotham Organization principal and CEO David Picket said, “This transformative development will deliver hundreds of permanently affordable homes, including homes for veterans and opportunities for middle-income homeownership, while creating a dynamic civic destination that benefits both residents and the surrounding neighborhood.”
