NY Developer Proposes Residential Tower in Clybourn Corridor

The Georgetown Company, a New York-based developer, is looking to build an apartment building at the intersection of North and Clybourn in Chicago’s North Side shopping district.

The firm is proposing a 37-story, 396-unit building at 1565 N. Clybourn Avenue, reported Crain’s. The developer wants to rezone the property to allow for high-rise development, replacing a former Bank of America building but keeping an adjacent two-story retail building and four-story, 158-space parking garage on the site.

Georgetown also bought Lincoln Park Centre, a two-story, 61,761-square-foot retail center, for $64 million in 2015. The proposed development site is connected to the center at the corner of West North Avenue and North Halsted Street. Lincoln Park’s Clybourn Corridor is well known for being home to national brands, including popular home goods and furniture tenants.
