New York-based (and private) firm Sason is buying into the San Diego office/corporate market with a Kearny Mesa office building purchase: the Kearny Mesa office building at 9555 Chesapeake Dr.
The building is being renamed Canvas, and is leased. The 17,000-square-foot space is slated for renovation, as is a 3,000-square-foot suite, according to a news release.
Some San Diego submarkets – such as Kearny Mesa, Scripps Ranch, Mission Valley – continue to see a rise in interest; however, some political activity is in the works.
Cresa, a commercial real estate brokerage, reported that office leasing at the end of 2021 had reached its highest level since the pandemic began.
“More than 7.8 million square feet of space was leased, with levels approaching recent historical averages,” according to Cresa. “The fourth quarter of 2021 surpassed 2 million square feet of lease transactions.”
