Nuvance Signs for 220K SF in Danbury
Nuvance Health Systems, which operates seven hospitals in Connecticut and New York State, signed a 12-year lease at The Summit at Danbury, formerly Union Carbide’s world headquarters in Danbury, CT. The 220,000-square-foot deal, which includes an option to expand to 300,000 square feet, is reportedly Connecticut’s largest office lease of 2020.
A partnership of Southport, CT-based Summit Development, Fort Worth-based Crestline Investors and Danbury-based Rizzo Companies acquired the 40-year-old offices in foreclosure for $17 million two years ago. Nuvance’s lease will bring the repositioned property to 80% occupancy.
Summit president Felix T. Charney said, “This is not only a success for us, but it allows Nuvance to have a unified, centralized headquarters, and obviously, it is a major economic boost for the City of Danbury and the State of Connecticut.”
Cushman & Wakefield’s Gerry Leeds, Maureen O’Boyle, Jim Fagan, Brian Scruton, Adam Klemick and Kathleen Fazio brokered the deal.
