NRP Group Eyeing San Pedro Creek for Affordable Housing
Developer NRP Group is proposing a 320-unit apartment complex on San Pedro Creek, of which units would be set aside for low-income renters. San Antonio’s Zoning Commission will decide today whether to rezone 9.1 acres on Cevallos Street from industrial to infill. A current site plan said the as-yet unnamed complex will have five buildings, a dog park and parking lots.
The San Antonio Housing Trust Public Facility Corp. received an application from NPR to partner on the complex’s construction, though it hasn’t been revealed how the deal structure would be set.
If it goes forward, the complex would be one of the largest to be built on San Pedro Creek. Bexar County and the City of San Antonio are renovating the creek into a leisure trail at a cost of $175 million, in hopes to rejuvenate west downtown.
