Now Open: The Liberty Mutual $325M, 1M-SF Regional Hub
The $325-million, 1.1-million-square-foot regional hub in Plano, TX that will consolidate Liberty Mutual Insurance employees has opened, with an official groundbreaking ceremony and ribbon cutting taking place Nov. 29. Located in the $2-billion Legacy West mixed-use development, the 19-story campus offers an on-site medical center, full-service cafeteria, two rooftop gardens and more than 4,500 covered parking spaces. Close to 5,000 employees will begin their move to the new regional hub in January 2018.
The Plano regional operations center is a test for the insurance company, which is considering similar consolidations throughout the United States. Liberty Mutual acquired the high-rise campus from developer KDC in June 2017. The acquisition included vacant land on the north side of the two buildings, which would allow for a potential expansion of the office campus.
