Now Open: Habitat for Humanity ReStore

A Habitat for Humanity ReStore – a thrift store that supports the home-building charity – is now open in Harlingen, TX. The operation relocated from its original location at 502 N. First St. (formerly a Zarsky Lumber Yard & Warehouse) to 20,000 square feet across the street at 507 N. First St. The store is the second in the Rio Grande Valley; another is operational in McAllen.

The building has 5,000 square feet of air-conditioned space, with the remaining square footage serving as a warehouse that holds donated building supplies, large furniture and other items for purchase. Once home to Loaves & Fishes (another non-profit, which is now at 514 S.E. St), Habitat for Humanity of the Rio Grande Valley acquired the building and site in early 2018. The former ReStore space will be used for other Habitat for Humanity community services in the future.
