Norwalk’s Missing Transit Link Could Soon Be Filled

For over 20 years, a 2.8 mile transit link between Norwalk’s Metrolink station and Metro Green Line stop has been nonexistent. But now, L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti, the L.A. County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, city and regional members, and the city of Norwalk are proposing to fill the gap.

Over two decades ago, the costs were estimated to be higher than $240 million dollars to construct an elevated train or subway to connect the stretch, in an effort to hasten the commute between Orange County, Los Angeles County, and the Inland Empire.

Although the price tag will certainly be higher than previous estimates, the major players and commuters alike all agree that this would dramatically benefit the entire region.
