Northwestern Mutual Finds Larger Quarters at Brookfield’s 200 Liberty

Northwestern Mutual signed up for 91,217 square feet, spanning three floors, at Brookfield Properties’ 200 Liberty St. in Lower Manhattan. The lease runs for 10 years.

“Northwestern Mutual’s business is thriving and the financial company was looking for a larger office to accommodate its Manhattan staff,” said JLL’s Scott Vinett. “They decided on Brookfield Place, as it is an amenity-rich complex with quality ownership that fosters a superior tenant experience.”

Vinett represented Northwestern Mutual together with Fischer & Co.’s Chris Joyner and Andrew Hegmann. Brookfield was represented in-house by Mikael Nahmias and by JLL’s Paul N. Glickman and John Wheeler.

Built in 1986 as part of the World Financial Center complex, the 1.74-million-square-foot 200 Liberty was redeveloped by Brookfield, which recast the complex as Brookfield Place.
