Northgate’s NHL Redevelopment Has Seattle Holiday Shoppers Wondering
With demolition work well underway for the massive redevelopment project at Simon’s Northgate Mall, some holiday shoppers are uncertain which, if any, of the mall’s stores are still open. According to the Seattle Times, the loss of Northgate anchor tenants Macy’s, Nordstrom and JCPenney during the property’s dramatic makeover set to bring the offices and practice facility of the NHL’s Seattle expansion might make it a more daunting shopping destination for last-minute holiday shoppers.
That being said, Simon, a global leader in premier shopping destinations, knows that bringing the NHL Seattle corporate headquarters and Training Center to the Northgate community is worth the pain heading towards the excitement of the anticipated 2021-2022 season.
According to Michael E. McCarty, COO, Simon Malls, “The transformation of Northgate is a prime example of our ability to create compelling ways for consumers to live, work, play, stay, shop, and now skate at their favorite Simon destination.”
