North Texas Construction Moving Forward — For Now
While businesses are shutting down nationwide in response to the COVID-19 threat, developers and builders operational in North Texas aren’t pushing the pause button on projects. At least, not yet. According to the Dallas Morning News, developers interviewed indicated that, so far, construction projects in progress, are still on schedule. However, “on projects about to start, we have asked for a pause for a few weeks to see how this all plays out,” Cawley Partners’ Bill Cawley told the DMN.
Hillwood and Hines also indicated that projects are moving along as scheduled, so far. Phil Crone with the Dallas Builders Association “is optimistic that the local homebuilding industry can continue to operate,” while apartment developer JPI’s Brad Taylor indicated that, while job sites are active as of now, “we are anticipating inevitable delays at each of our projects.”
