North Branch Grocer’s Exit Spells “Excellent Opportunity”

The owners of longtime neighborhood grocer Stanley’s Fresh Fruit & Vegetables have decided to close up and take advantage of surging development demand in the recently rezoned North Branch Corridor. CBRE’s Keely Polcyznski is marketing the 1.39-acre, 60,948-square-foot land site at the corner of North and Elston avenues.

“This is a prime corner in one of the fastest-developing markets in the city,” said Polczynski. “We have seen this kind of activity and interest in areas like Fulton Market in recent years, and it’s clear that development is now pushing north along the river into Lincoln Park.”

Polczynski called the Stanley’s property “an excellent opportunity for developers to enter this market and be at the forefront of the city’s next big development wave.”

Other major projects have launched in the area in recent years and several mega-developments are on the horizon, such as the proposed River District and Lincoln Yards projects.
