Nonprofit Leases Full Floor on 57th Street

Nonprofit racial justice organization Race Forward has signed a full-floor lease of 5,336 square feet at 145 E. 57th St., consolidating from two locations downtown. Known for housing retailer Hammacher Schlemmer, the property is owned by a joint venture of ABS Partners Real Estate and Benenson Investment Company.

“Many nonprofits are being pushed out of prime New York City locations, and we are proud to offer custom-designed spaces with a high-end aesthetic to nonprofit tenants seeking value combined with a high-profile location,” said ABS’ John Brod. “It’s exciting to see Race Forward join the already interesting and diverse tenant roster at this historic building.”

Race Forward president Glenn Harris called the relocation “a huge step forward in our integration process” since joining with Center for Social Inclusion in 2017.

Brod, Robert Finkelstein and Alex Kaskel lead the ABS leasing team at the property. Keller Williams’ Christopher Webb represented the tenant.
