NKF Secures $34M Refinancing for Charleston Apartment Community

NKF has secured a $34.3-million loan to refinance The Heyward Apartments, a 260-unit, garden-style apartment community in Charleston.

Bill Mott, Greg Primiano and John Chobanian of NKF secured the Freddie Mac ARM financing on behalf of the undisclosed borrower. Terms of the 10-year ARM included five years of interest-only payments.

Built in 2017, the community features a mix of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom floorplans. The pet-friendly community offers a suite of amenities including a clubhouse, saltwater pool, fitness center, BBQ patio, dog park, two ponds and walking paths. The property is located at 3220 Hatchet Bay Drive in Charleston’s West Ashley submarket.
