NJ Transit-Oriented Healthcare Development Breaks Ground

Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH), New Jersey’s largest health network, is embarking on a groundbreaking project at Metropark Station in Woodbridge, NJ, marking the inception of the nation’s first health and wellness center at a transit hub.

The project, part of Metropark Station’s redevelopment, aligns with Governor Murphy’s vision to revitalize transportation hubs into multi-use spaces. Set to open in 2025, the 60,000-square-foot facility will offer comprehensive healthcare services, including primary care, specialties, and urgent care. Moreover, it will incorporate amenities and community benefits, enhancing access to healthcare and fostering mass transit utilization.

Hackensack Meridian Health’s investment underscores its commitment to expanding healthcare accessibility and job creation, with an estimated 1,000 employment opportunities. “Once again, New Jersey is pioneering a new model for supporting our families and communities as we break ground on the first ever comprehensive health care facility located at a major transit hub,” said Governor Phil Murphy.
