NJ Governor Proposes 4M-SF Incubator Hub
New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy has unveiled plans to build the Hub, a four-million-square-foot research and start-up incubation center on a downtown New Brunswick site managed by the New Brunswick Development Corp. He said the state’s Economic Development Authority would immediately begin a planning and implementation study, and identify potential partners for the Hub.
“For too long, New Jersey has been left out of the growing national innovation economy,” Governor Murphy said. “By creating a site where high-growth industry can thrive, New Jersey will begin to foster new ideas and take advantage of the once-in-a-generation chance to remake the state as an engine of economic opportunity.”
The development site on city-owned land would complement the recent residential, retail, and entertainment growth and development in New Brunswick. It would also be centrally-located near existing corporate, medical, and academic research activity in Central Jersey.
