Next Up for Frisco: Master Plan Re-Do

The city council of Frisco, TX approved a contract with consulting firm Gateway Planning to update the downtown master plan. The downtown master plan in this far North Dallas suburb was last updated in 1998, and city staff anticipates the process will take up to a year.

The updated plan has objectives including redefining the district’s boundaries, re-evaluating land uses and residential density, developing a downtown mobility plan and parking strategy, and creating a plan to preserve downtown’s architectural heritage.

The consultant’s next step is to acquire public input and expectations, which it plans to do through online surveys, and many group interviews. Gateway Planning is receiving $332,700 to update the master plan.
