Next Generation Honoree: Michael Britvan Brings New Money to Real Estate Finance

In the depths of the Financial Crisis, Michael Britvan successfully sold troubled loans on the secondary markets as a young broker at the loan asset sales desk for Mission Capital.

That’s just one of the reasons we chose Britvan to be one of the five 2017 Next Generation Award winners for New York. Connect Media’s Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.

As the capital markets recovered, Britvan brought a broad range of new buyers and sellers through the desk, including debt funds, mortgage REITs and specialty finance companies. Mission Capital, already a leading market-maker for distressed debt, became a single-source capital markets advisory platform for clients seeking valuation, due diligence, or trading services on otherwise illiquid credits across the risk spectrum.

Britvan became the youngest managing director ever at Mission Capital, when he was just 28. Now, at 31 years of age, he’s the head of Mission Capital’s loan and asset sales desk.
