Next Generation Honoree: Joseph Scheck Rises to Challenges

Joseph Scheck is a director at Essex Realty Group, focused on the acquisition and deposition of investment real estate throughout the Chicago metro area. Within the past five years, he has helped complete over $300 million in deals. Scheck and his team were among the first to create a platform for condominium deconversion opportunities in Chicago. They currently lead the market in overall deconversion transaction volume, and are viewed as experts.

Those are  just some of the reasons we chose Scheck to be one of the Chicago 2018 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s second annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.

While maintaining a consistent share of 20% in his core market, Scheck managed to graduate from the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute and is a CFA charter holder. An even bigger challenge occurred last summer, when Scheck was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. He immediately began focusing on how to persevere while living with the disease. Through hard work and a holistic approach, Scheck was able to bring himself to a healthy physical and mental state, while still completing a record-setting year at Essex Realty. While taking care of his own health, Scheck has also been an active leader within the National MS Society, and enjoys mentoring younger agents.
