Next Generation Honoree: Draper and Kramer’s Janus Makes Rapid Ascent

Colleagues describe Rachel Janus as calm, cool and collected regardless of the situation, and note that she immediately recognizes issues that need to be addressed as well as opportunities that arise. These factors have contributed to her rapid ascent to her role as VP/Associate Producer with Draper and Kramer’s Commercial Finance Group since joining the firm straight out of college. Other attributes came into play: diligence in accuracy and attention to detail; the ability to hit deadlines, manage timelines and set realistic expectations of when projects will be completed; and a hunger to learn more.

Those are just some of the reasons we chose Janus to be one of the Chicago 2018 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s second annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.

Concurrent with Janus’ rapid blossoming in terms of business accomplishments, was her emergence as a leader for others on the team. She volunteers her time to mentor analysts and train interns, and is always willing to help or guide anyone on the team needing assistance.

Illustrating Janus’ dedication to further developing the leadership skills already evident at Draper and Kramer, is her successful application and acceptance into the Mortgage Bankers Association’s Future Leaders Program, a selective, year-long program.
