Next Generation Honoree: CBRE’s Aron Will Achieves Vice Chairmanship with Practice He Launched

Early in his career, Houston-based Aron Will established a new practice area for CBRE Capital Markets, pointing to senior housing finance as an opportunity for the platform. There was no such practice within CBRE in 2009, and accordingly Will established one and spent the next two years building the team. Today, it’s one of the top two in the country by loan volume, and as co-head of the National Senior Housing Debt & Structured Finance practice, Will is CBRE’s youngest vice chairman to date. Over a 36-month period that ended this past Dec. 31, he originated $3.7 billion in senior housing debt capital.

That’s just one of the reasons we chose Will to be one of the 10 Texas 2018 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s second annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.

Will has been able to balance the long hours it took to reach this level, with his family that includes two young daughters, and he still manages to find time to volunteer. He sits on the board of six different organizations, both local and national. However, it’s the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Family Alliance, where he now serves as president of the board, that has remained particularly close to his heart, since the disease claimed his mother’s sister.
