Next Generation Honoree: CBRE’s Tara Torbik Against the Grain Approach in Suburban Chicago

CBRE’s Tara Torbik has assisted in more than 90 lease and sale transactions, totaling more than 1.5-million square feet of office space since 2013. She is a strong leader in the community, and has been recognized by the Chicago business sector for the accomplishments already achieved in her young CRE career.

Those are just some of the reasons we chose Torbik to be one of the ten national 2017 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.

In 2017, she was a recipient of the Chicago Business Journal’s Women of Influence award. She’s also earned recognition from the Daily Herald Business Ledger as a Top 20 under 40 Suburban Professional Award.

Torbik is a bit of a contrarian in that she is the only young woman broker on the agency leasing side working in the 41-million-square-foot East/West Corridor Market. Most millennials live and work in downtown Chicago, and avoid the commute to suburban Chicago. Yet Torbik recognized an opportunity, was confident she could make a larger mark, and has gained a competitive advantage.

Come see our honorees accept their awards at:
Connect New York on Sept. 19 2017 at The Underground, Rockefeller Center
Connect Apartments on September 28, 2017 at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown
Connect Houston on November 2, 2017 at Station 3
– Connect Westside L.A. – December 2017, location to be determined
