2020 Next Generation Honoree: Bascom Group’s Tony Ferrell Oversees 22K-Unit Portfolio

For the Bascom Group, SVP Tony Ferrell is responsible for the operation, renovation and strategic planning for a portfolio of real estate investments throughout the eastern half of the US. He is involved in every aspect of business operations, including the oversight of third-party property & construction management, investor relations, portfolio reporting and budget oversight.

In his career thus far with the Bascom Group, McKinney, TX-based Ferrell has been responsible for the operation of 65-plus assets across 15 major markets. These assets total nearly 22,000 apartment units, along with significant commercial space in mixed-use projects.

Renovation projects that have been undertaken on his watch total approximately $236 million and total asset capitalization is approximately $2 billion. Additionally, Ferrell was heavily involved in sale and refinance activity for many of the assets owned coming out of the Great Recession, totaling more than $300 million.

These are just some of the reasons we chose Ferrell as one of the Texas 2020 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s fourth annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.

Ferrell has been a featured speaker and panelist at many national and regional industry events. He’s a member of several real estate associations and clubs as well as being heavily involved in his local community.
