2020 Next Generation Honoree: Aligned’s Sam McKelvey Brings Business Acumen, Financial Savvy
Sam McKelvey’s business acumen and financial savvy reportedly make him a strategic asset to the Plano, TX-based Aligned team. As Aligned’s senior financial associate, McKelvey works closely with senior and executive teams. His pulse on the data center market, along with his holistic view of the financial landscape, help shape Aligned’s growth strategy and operational processes.
He also works side-by-side with Aligned’s executive leadership and cross-functional division heads to drive various facets of the company’s sustainability program. Most recently, McKelvey was instrumental in helping the company achieve the title of Green Lease Leader. He was also a critical factor in implementing several initiatives that enabled Aligned to match 100% of its data center IT load with renewable energy sources.
These are just some of the reasons we chose McKelvey as one of the Texas 2020 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s fourth annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
McKelvey’s latest project is focused on working closely with Aligned’s platform delivery team to analyze and coordinate financial assets as they pertain to the company’s data center expansions as well as new construction in Ashburn, VA, Salt Lake City, Dallas and Phoenix. His sense of tenacity and drive led him to exceed expectations at Stifel Financial Corp. prior to joining Aligned. At Stifel, his research spanned six industries in seven years, including data centers, telecommunications infrastructure, towers, airlines, aerospace and defense.
