2020 Next Generation Honoree: Black Creek Group’s Mike Moran is Accomplished Team Player

Since beginning his career in commercial real estate in 2007, Mike Moran has been involved in acquisitions totaling more than $1 billion, making deals happen even in the most turbulent times.

Moran has a deep understanding of the retail industry, acquiring a variety of property types including mixed-use, grocery-anchored and neighborhood shopping centers, demonstrating his industry knowledge. He has experience in multiple markets across the U.S., providing him with invaluable relationships with brokers and owners across the country. These relationships along with his knowledge have been pivotal to growing Black Creek’s retail presence, acquiring over $105 million in retail properties.

As head of retail acquisitions for the entire U.S. at Black Creek, Moran heads up one of the firm’s Northeastern regional offices, handling both acquisitions and asset management.

One of his greatest accomplishments is the development of his team. Moran strives to be a mentor, letting them take the lead so they can grow both personally and professionally. By taking this approach, his team gains hands-on experience, with him there to lend support, as needed.

These are just a few of the reasons we chose Moran to be one of the Boston region’s 2020 Next Generation Award Winners. Connect Media’s fourth annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
