2020 Next Generation Honoree: Matthews Real Estate’s Johnny Blue Craig is Retail Expert

Johnny Blue Craig serves as the regional director of the Atlanta office for Matthews Real Estate Investment Services. Craig specializes in grocery-anchored and shadow-anchored shopping centers and is recognized as an expert in the field, understanding the dynamic changes occurring in the retail landscape as new competitors flood the marketplace.

Craig hails from a multi-generational family of real estate professionals and an academic background in management information systems, resulting in a unique understanding of what it takes to market properties in the 21st century. Craig has been recognized by his peers for outworking his competition, being an expert in his field and serving his clients with honesty and integrity.

These are just a few of the reasons we chose Craig to be one of the Atlanta and Southeast region 2020 Next Generation Award Winners. Connect Media’s fourth annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.

Matthews recently secured the portfolio sale of three Food Lion anchored assets in West Virginia for $17.3M. Craig represented the seller and sourced the buyer in the sale, which was the largest grocery-anchored transaction in West Virginia this year in terms of both overall price-point and square footage.

About Paul Bubny

Paul Bubny serves as Senior Content Director for Connect Commercial Real Estate, a role to which he brings 16-plus years’ experience covering the commercial real estate industry and 30-plus years in business-to-business journalism.
