2020 Next Generation Honoree: Avison Young’s David Lawrence Takes Leadership Role
Since joining Avison Young in March 2018, David Lawrence reportedly has shown an exceptional work ethic and taken a leadership role while performing as a top broker on the Tri-State Investment Sales Team (TSIS). Not only has Lawrence taken initiative by heading up the office asset class for TSIS, but he also has made a point to take younger associates under his wing by sharing insight on how to underwrite an opportunity, present it to potential buyers and navigate listings from the marketing phase to the closing table. Lawrence also collaborates with the firm’s office leasing brokers on cross-marketing initiatives and pursuits.
In his two years with the firm, Lawrence has completed 16 transactions including fee-simple sales, long-term ground leases and transfers of leasehold interests. Among the most notable have been the $205.5-million sale of 250 Church St. and four office condominiums at 420 Fifth Ave., totaling $72,272,210.
These are just a few reasons we chose Lawrence as one of the New York 2020 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s fourth annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
Lawrence reportedly has developed a unique expertise in the sale of office condos, having closed multiple sales on behalf of The Carlyle Group, 60 Guilders, and AM Property Holding Corp. Currently he’s marketing a 30,000-square-foot space at 50 W. 47th St. on behalf of SL Green Realty Corp.
