2020 Next Generation Honoree: CBRE Global Investors’ Tracey Zhou Plays Key Role in Pandemic-Era Deal

In the year and a half since joining CBRE Global Investors, Tracey Zhou was an integral part of a team that closed on more than $300 million in multifamily asset acquisitions and $175 million of developments. That performance cemented her position on the newly formed West Coast multifamily acquisitions team focused on expanding investments across the western half of the U.S.

The strong mentor played an active role in educating the team about multifamily markets that the firm had not been active in recently. That involved tapping into Zhou’s wide-ranging talent that encompasses strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills to help develop broader business/corporate strategy.

Zhou helped close the first acquisition that CBRE Global Investors completed during the pandemic, which, with her ability to boil down highly quantitative material into easily digestible information for the executive level, included presenting the transaction to a virtual investment committee for approval. She navigated potential impacts of COVID-19 through a rapidly changing market environment to protect the investment’s downside risk.
