2020 Next Generation Honoree: Black Creek Group’s Christina Adamson Shifts to CRE Investment Management

When Christina Adamson joined Black Creek Group in 2018, she successfully transitioned her career from hedge fund prime finance within a large global bank to commercial real estate investment management. Adamson now serves as SVP, head of institutional sales and investor relations at Black Creek. Previously, Adamson served as a Director with Deutsche Bank’s Hedge Fund Capital Introduction team based in London, where she was responsible for advising global hedge fund managers on their institutional and family office capital raising efforts throughout Europe.

Since joining Black Creek, Adamson has led the development and build-out of an investor relations and capital raising team catered towards institutional investors. Her thoughtful and creative approach to interacting with existing and prospective institutional investors has been instrumental in raising $1.8 billion of institutional equity since the time she joined the firm.

Adamson has worked collaboratively with departments across the firm to help put a repeatable, institutionalized process in place for fundraising and client management. She has helped to develop a comprehensive strategy that is focused first and foremost on providing high-touch, best-in-class service to prospective and existing investors that is investor-centric and focused on trusted partnership. Her ability to see the bigger picture while also paying close attention to details has helped the firm to better service the firm’s institutional partners.

During her career at Deutsche Bank, Adamson authored the company’s annual Alternative Investment Survey, the hedge fund industry’s largest and longest running investor survey globally with approximately 450 investors representing two thirds of industry assets. When she joined Black Creek, Adamson was confident that she could leverage her financial services experience to grow the firm’s institutional relationships and capital base. Her experience across asset classes has helped her think strategically and pivot between products, channels and firm initiatives.

These are just some of the reasons we chose Adamson as one of the Phoenix 2020 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s fourth annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
