Next Generation Honoree: Colliers’ Patrick Hewitt Finds Opportunities
Patrick Hewitt is a VP with Colliers International Chicago’s corporate solutions team, led by principal David Burden. He joined the group in 2018 and played an instrumental role in the team’s record year, a year in which they closed 94 transactions totaling more than one million square feet, valued at $150 million.
Colleagues say they’re continually impressed with Hewitt’s strong business development skills across multiple industries, from financial and professional services to legal and technology. He possesses a keen ability to find opportunities most others would overlook, perhaps due to his tenacious and highly organized cold-calling routine. He’s a people person who easily connects with others, building long-term relationships with colleagues and clients alike. Thanks to a robust understanding of clients’ needs and market fundamentals, Hewitt has grown into a knowledgeable and trusted partner to his clients.
These are just a few of the reasons we chose Hewitt to be one of the Chicago 2019 Next Generation Award winners. Connect Media’s third annual Next Generation Awards recognize young leaders in the commercial real estate industry who are likely to be influential for years to come.
While Hewitt is accomplished and successful at his young age, he remains committed to personal development. He regularly seeks out mentoring and coaching opportunities in order to improve his skill set. “Patrick is confident in what he knows, yet recognizes what he doesn’t know,” says a colleague.
Paul Bubny serves as Senior Content Director for Connect Commercial Real Estate, a role to which he brings 13-plus years’ experience covering the commercial real estate industry and 30-plus years in business-to-business journalism. He produces 15-20 daily news stories per day and works with the Connect team and clients to develop longer-form content, ranging from Q&As to thought-leadership pieces.
Prior to joining Connect, Paul was Managing Editor for both Real Estate Forum and GlobeSt.com at American Lawyer Media, where he oversaw operations at both publications while also producing daily news and feature-length articles. His tenure in B2B publishing stretches back into the print era, and he has served as Editor in Chief on four national trade publications.
Since 1999, Paul has volunteered as the newsletter editor of passenger rail advocacy groups (one national, one local).
